As the Danish couple Ole and Hannah Nydahl set out for their honeymoon to Nepal in 1969, they had no idea that this trip would change their lives forever. They did not know that they were the ones destined to fulfill a prophecy more than a thousand years old - a prophecy spoken by the great meditation master Guru Rinpoche:
“When the iron bird flies and the horses run on wheels, the Tibetan people will be scattered like ants across the world and the Dharma will come to the land of the white men”
After eventful years of learning in the Himalayas, Ole and Hannah, at the request of the greatest meditation master and yogi of all time, the 16th Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje, returned to Europe to build a bridge between the powerful Tibetan transmission and the independent people of the West. This begins more than 30 years of transmitting Buddha’s teachings which has inspired the making of this film.
"Lama 24H” is a record of Lama Ole’s special activity, his unique life and the effects of his life-long intensive work all over the world. This film also documents those unique times in the history of mankind when Buddha’s teachings – which used to be available to a few inhabitants of the Himalayas - became accessible to thousands of people in the West, giving their lives profound meaning.
